Live Income Tracker
Enter your salary or hourly rate, hit start, and leave it open. Watch what you have earned today tick up by the second, with overtime, breaks, and a take-home estimate if you want one.
How the math works
Everything comes down to an hourly rate. If you are paid hourly, that is your wage. If you are salaried, the tracker divides your annual salary by 52 weeks times your hours per week, so a $75,000 salary at 40 hours comes out to about $36.06 an hour, 60 cents a minute, and a hair over a penny a second.
From the moment you clock in, the tracker multiplies that rate by the time you have been working. Pausing for lunch stops the clock, and the start time can be backdated if you only remembered to open the page mid-morning. With overtime on, every hour past your threshold is paid at the multiplier you set, 1.5x by default.
Why the day is counted this way
A salaried paycheck covers vacation and holidays, so the per-hour figure uses all 52 weeks rather than only the weeks you actually show up. That makes the number a fair picture of what each working hour is worth, which is the point of watching it tick.
The tax field is an estimate, not a calculation. Enter the effective rate from your last pay stub (total withholding divided by gross pay) and the tracker shows a rough take-home figure beside the gross one.
FAQ
Does the tracker keep counting if I close the tab?
Yes. Your settings and your clock-in time are saved in this browser, so reopening the page later in the day picks up where it left off, including time that passed while the tab was closed. Nothing is sent to a server. A new day starts fresh.
What should I put for hours per week if I am salaried but work more than 40?
Put what you actually work. The tracker divides your salary across those hours, so 50 hours a week gives a lower hourly figure than 40. That is the honest number, and often the eye-opening one.
How do I handle an unpaid lunch?
Hit Pause when you step away and Resume when you are back. Paused time is left out of the total. If your lunch is paid, just leave it running.
Can I use it for a second job or a side gig?
Yes, one at a time. Reset clears the day. If you want today's total to include money from an earlier shift, type that amount into the Start with field before you start the clock.
Is my information stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser's local storage, the same place a site remembers a dark mode setting. Clearing your browser data removes it. FolioStuff never sees your pay.
